WHO IS THE FREEDOM CAUCUS?

The Wyoming Freedom Caucus is a secretive group of legislators that votes according to orders they receive from their leaders in Washington, D.C.

While some members of the Wyoming Freedom Caucus admit that they are part of the group, others do not.

MEET THE MEMBERS

How do you know who’s in the Freedom Caucus (and why are they trying to hide)?

Since legislators in the Wyoming Freedom Caucus are told how to vote by their leaders, sometimes their votes don’t align with the best interests of their own local communities.

Most everyday Wyomingites don’t track how their local lawmakers vote on every bill, and the Freedom Caucus doesn’t publicize their full membership. So, it’s easy for a legislator to follow the Freedom Caucus’ orders but claim that they don’t belong to the group.

This webpage uses three simple criteria to show who, exactly, is part of the Wyoming Freedom Caucus.

Freedom Caucus Lawmakers

The Wyoming Freedom Caucus only formally operates in the state House, even though it has many allies in the Senate.

The caucus has members from 18 of 23 Wyoming counties. There are no Freedom Caucus members representing Carbon, Johnson, Niobrara, Teton, or Washakie Counties.
